Every Tuesday staff and students on the Walt Disney World Summer Project have the opportunity to ride waves of faith as they step out, initiate, and engage in spiritual conversations with people around the Orlando area. Below is one students’ experience at an outlet mall where she initiated with a young lady named Isabella.
Isabella is from Brazil and is a high-school exchange student. She was really open to talking to me, so I went through the Quest Survey (Cru evangelism tool) with her and she was really honest with her answers. When asked what happens after death, she said “nothing happens”. But when I asked her to rate her desire to know God, she rated it at a 10. I shared a little bit of my testimony and asked if I could share the KGP (Knowing God Personally) booklet with her, which she was open to. So we went through the KGP and she tracked the whole way. At the end I asked if she wanted to pray now (to receive Christ) or continue to think about it. She said that she wanted to wait and pray later by herself. I really think she will look through the booklet again and even ask Jesus into her heart soon. I thought it was really cool because she understood it was a personal thing and she could think more before making a big decision! Praise God for calling His children to Him!
God is opening doors–just like this one–for students to step through everyday. It’s exciting, sometimes scary, but always rewarding to follow where God leads.
