We made it! After spending 28 hours in the car over a 5 day period, we arrived at the El Caribe “Resort” in Daytona Beach, FL on January 3rd. The hotel is goofy looking key-lime green color, but the ocean view is spectacular. After a few days of orientation, we are now in our second week of graduate level theology classes that make up the bulk of our training. Chelsea is taking “Intro to Christian Theology” and “Bible Study Methods”, and I am taking a philosophy class called “Christian Worldview” (we are getting seminary credit through Trinity Evangelical Divinity School). These classes are intense! We are in class 8a-12:30p, eat lunch, and then study until about 10p. It has been such a blessing to grow in the depth of our knowledge of God and how to share the gospel with today’s college students. Once our classes finish on Jan. 25th, we have a few more days of basic HR training (benefits, reimbursements, etc.) followed by 5 days of Ministry Partner Development (MPD) training. While I already went through these parts of the training when I joined staff in 2005, it will be a good refresher. I am so excited to be here with Chelsea, following God’s call to pursue this ministry together!
