From Australia:
Bill and Geoff are staff members with Power to Change in Australia, a Cru ministry. Recently they were in a small town about 4 hours west of Sydney to train priests and lay leaders in the Anglican Diocese of Bathurst in the principles of disciple making (using the SHIFTm2M curriculum). They expected about 12 people, but the bishop encouraged people to come and there were almost 70 in attendance from places up to four hours drive away (such as Bourke, the gateway to the Outback).
They learned that the local Anglican church (comprised mostly of 70+ year olds) had begun a ministry among the 400 Chinese migrants in town. This was revitalizing the church. They had seen some conversions but lacked Chinese language materials.
Geoff mentioned the Jesus Film Project smartphone App to both the local minister and to the bishop, both of whom had heard of and used the original film JESUS but were unaware of the App. The bishop was surprised that it contained so many resources for free and started to download it immediately!
Geoff said, “It really helped give credibility to our disciple making training to be able to provide such a comprehensive tool that scratched exactly where they were at!”
