We’d like to introduce you to Cassandra and Caden. They are two of the ten interns we are coaching this summer. Cassandra is from Maryland, and will be interning with Cru in Lincoln, NE. Caden is from Illinois and will be interning with the St. Louis, MO team.
We took some time to ask them about their experience raising financial support and their call to vocational ministry. Here is what they shared with us.
“What prompted me to intern was a summer missions trip that I went on to San Diego with Cru. It sparked a desire in me that I actually didn’t realize until a couple weeks of being back home.” -Cassandra
“My vision for my internship is to continually lead people to Jesus on the college campus. Whether it is someone who doesn’t know Him yet, a believer who is being called to take a step of faith, or the graduating Christian who gets the exciting opportunity to be a missionary in the work force.” -Caden
“Coaching has been so beneficial because support raising can feel very isolating. It is encouraging to talk with people who currently and in the past have experienced the joys and challenges of support raising. Lee is always pointing me to the truths about God and practical wisdom that leads me to do more confident support raising.” -Caden
“It’s been so beneficial to talk with Chelsea once a week. Right away she wanted to let me know that she was an available resource and not to hesitate in reaching out, even in all her business with 3 boys. I appreciated that so much because it made me feel comfortable to run any questions that I had by her. You would think I’d know that already because that’s what coaching is for, but I’m SO grateful that she reiterated that for me. She has also given me great counsel on how to approach group appointments. I’ve loved her support through this faith stretching time!” -Cassandra
