On Thursday, April 7th, Campus Crusade at UNO is hosting an event called iEmpathize (iE). iE exists to create opportunities for people to explore and engage in issues of social injustice. iE focuses mainly on child sex slavery—a multibillion dollar crime business.
Why bring an event like this to the college campus? Promoting social injustice issues on campus is a very effective way to get non-believers involved in Campus Crusade because this generation of students are passionate about issues of social injustice. Our student leaders want to bring the whole Gospel to their peers. They want them to know that Jesus shares their same heart of brokenness and desire to see justice served. “The Sprit of the Sovereign Lord is upon Me, for the Lord has anointed Me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent Me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.” (Is. 61:1)
