Year End Update. #givingtuesday
We hope you had a great Thanksgiving holiday! Ours was pretty low key, but it was so fun to spend the holiday with great friends and not need to travel.
Our ministry with the Jesus Film Project is about leveraging our tools and resources to accelerate evangelism, discipleship, and church planting throughout the global Body of Christ. In this way, we help get the gospel to Everyone, Everywhere, in their heart language.
Recently Chelsea and I had the opportunity to train Cru missionaries who reach out to the college-aged interns in the Walt Disney World international internship program. The team leader, Chad, was excited to get trained on our smartphone app because of a recent ministry experience with his friend Tumelo (name changed for privacy) from Botswana in southern Africa.
Chad spent all semester last Fall meeting with Tumelo, who was not a Christian but very open to learning about Jesus. Chad walked Tumelo through every English language gospel resource he could think of, and while Tumelo was eager to continue their meetings, he was not ready to accept Christ as his Lord and Savior. Before Tumelo went home for Christmas, Chad remembered someone telling him Jesus Film Project has a smartphone app. So Chad asked Tumelo if he would be willing to watch the film JESUS in his native language of Setswana (Tswana) while he was home. Tumelo agreed. When he returned to Orlando, Chad asked him what he thought of the film. Tumelo said, “I gave my life to Jesus Christ. I am a believer now!” As great as Tumelo’s English was, experiencing the full gospel in his heart language made all the difference!
