“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30
We love the start of fall semester. We love reconnecting with familiar faces on campus. We love meeting and inviting new students to check out Cru. We love a well executed weekly meeting. We love being effective in ministry. None of these “loves” are inherently bad, however, if we move into the fall semester loving the wrong things, we will burn out and be ineffective in reaching college students with the Gospel.
One of our speakers at Cru15, Francis Chan, said it well: “Movements of God are fueled with people who are deeply in love with Jesus.” This is our hearts desire– for our staff team, for our student leaders, for our volunteers, for Cru across the Omaha metro, and for our family. We want movements of (college-aged) Christ followers who are known for loving people well, selflessly serving, and generously giving of their time, energy, and money. But even more than this, we want Cru movements to be marked by individuals who are deeply, desperately, and intensely in love with Jesus.
As we step onto campuses across the Omaha Metro, please pray that we (and our student leaders) would not neglect our relationship with the Lord for the sake for ministry.
