Two kids, one grandma, 534 miles ahead of us, and a loaded down minivan; we were on our way to our summer assignment: Launch Conference.  This year, rather than staffing a Summer Mission with Cru and traveling to Orlando, San Diego, or Africa, we have been assigned to remain in Omaha and coach seven young people who are raising their financial support to serve with Cru for one year.  Come August 1st, these interns will be SENT from the campus to Ivory Coast, Africa and Columbia, Missouri, and Fort Collins, Colorado.  They are preparing to spend one year telling others about Jesus, serving the campus and community, and taking big steps of faith……beginning with trusting the Lord to raise up a team of financial partners.   Our job is to come alongside them and help them stay on track with their financial support raising goals, encourage them, challenge them, confront them, and celebrate with them when God completes their ministry team.  We didn’t really know what to expect when we were given this assignment (mainly because we’ve never done it before), but now that we’re a couple weeks in– we love it!  It’s refreshing to hear their zeal, excitement, confidence and determination to share with people what God has called them to do and invite them to partner financially.
